Announcing the CNTRP Astellas Training Award Competition


The Canadian National Transplant Research Program (CNTRP) and Astellas Pharma Canada, Inc. (Astellas) are pleased to announce the CNTRP Astellas Training Award Competition. The intention of this collaborative effort between Astellas and the CNTRP is to encourage the training and development of future researchers in the field of cell and organ donation and transplantation to improve long-term health outcomes and quality of life for transplant patients.

The objectives of the CNTRP Astellas Training Award Competition are to:

  • provide recognition and support to students early in their academic research career, providing them with an opportunity to gain research experience

  • support the training and development of future researchers in the field of organ and cell donation and transplantation in order to advance CNTRP’s objective to increase organ and tissue donation in Canada and enhance the survival and quality of life of Canadians who receive transplants with the ultimate goal of improving patient care.

Two (2) grants with a maximum value of $50,000 CDN will be awarded over a period of two years. It is required that award recipients secure and demonstrate a commitment of matching funding to receive the award.
