Congratulations to Niobe Thompson and Clearwater Documentary for winning the Best Science or Nature
The entire CNTRP congratulates filmmaker and anthropologist Niobe Thompson and Clearwater Documentary for receiving the 2016 Canadian Screen Award for Best Science or Nature Documentary Program for their program The Great Human Odyssey on CBC. In the Great Human Odyssey, Niobe takes a journey of discovery in the footsteps of our human ancestors, and unlocks the mystery of our unlikely survival and miraculous emergence as the world’s only global species. You can watch the 3 part series on the CBC website.
Niobe and his team are currently working with award-winning filmmaker Rosie Dransfeld and ID Productions on two new transplant film projects together with members of the Alberta Transplant Institute and the CNTRP. The first is a point of view (POV)-style film on donation for theatrical release, co-produced with the National Film Board of Canada, and the second is a science-documentary on transplantation for CBC's The Nature of Things. Both films will be released in the Fall of 2016 and you can LEARN MORE about this exciting project at http://idproductions.ca/projects/the-transplant-project/
