Chauvet Workshop on April 30 to May 2
The Collaborative International Research and Clinical Approach to the Psychosocial Evaluation and Care of VCA Patients (Chauvet Workgroup) will take place on April 30 to May 2 in Rochester, Minnesota.
Experts in the fields of psychiatry and psychology, transplantation, social work, ethics, and transplant administration met and reviewed center experiences and literature. Psychiatric complications in upper extremity transplanted patients have been reported by the majority of teams. The participants proposed an annual meeting forum to build upon the findings of the inaugural meeting.
This meeting is of interest to all health care providers who care for individuals with upper extremity amputations, severe facial disfigurement, absolute uterine factor infertility and those with loss of laryngeal function and all VCA candidates and recipients.
